Feeling So Alone? I Can Relate

When Life Has You Feeling So Alone

Feeling So Alone and LonelyLet’s face it. Life can be tough. There are time when you may be feeling so alone and feel like no one cares. You stare at your phone, almost willing it to ring, but no one calls. You check your social media sites, and no one has posted on your wall. Where are your true friends, you wonder. If you are in a place of feeling so alone, I can relate. I know the immense joy of having great friends in my life who encourage me along the way. But I have also tasted the immense sadness of feeling all alone, like I could just disappear and no one would even notice.

Feeling So Alone and Lonely

Loneliness leaves us feeling unimportant, devalued and often unloved. You can be sitting in a room full of people and feel so alone. It seems like everyone else has a friend except for you. Maybe you’re lonely in a marriage or other relationship. Recently my cousin and I created a group for wives called Intimate Intercessors. This group provides support and encouragement for married women who are lonely or those who just want to pray for their husbands in a deeper way.  If you dwell on your loneliness, it can send you straight into despair and/or depression.

So what do you do when you are feeling so alone? For me, I have to actually focus on the positive people in my life and understand that just like I am often too busy to pick up the phone and call them, they likely are busy and have no idea of what I’m going through at the moment. So I take the initiative and reach out.

I also find something that I love doing . . . like writing or working on my business. When I allow my creative juices to flow and reflect on all God has blessed me to do, those feelings of loneliness tend to dissipate.

Feeling So Alone? Watch This and Be Changed!

I was working out this morning and a song by Mandisa, called He is With You came on. Tears spilled out of my eyes as I reflected on these precious words. I want you to click on the video below and really listen to the lyrics.

He is with you! No matter what you’re facing in life, no matter how lonely and rejected you are or if you’ve been feeling so alone for years, God himself, the one who created you and knows you by name is right there with you. He wants to be with you. He wants you to open your heart and let Him in!

He will never leave you or abandon you (Hebrews 13:5). He loves you and he wants to fill that emptiness in your heart like only He can. No matter what you face in this life, He is with you!

Reflecting on this encourages me so much. And I pray this post has encouraged you for times you’re “feeling so alone.”

So I want to know . . . Who/what do you turn to when you’re feeling so alone?
